Fidgeting
There was an article published in Time Online last week that I felt I had to share. The description of the boys in the study, even down to their watching the Star Wars scene is so familiar; its amazing! Be sure to check out:

ADHD & LD Resource Blog
A resource for those who want to learn about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities (LD) and related topics can be found at the ADHD & LD Resource Blog. It’s nice to be able to learn from another parent that has a child with ADHD.
Information & Support for ADHD
Where do you go to for information or support if you or your child has been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD? In addition to you or your child’s doctor or teacher, there are a lot of resources on the internet. CHADD is a good place to start for information. If you’d like to “talk” with someone who knows what you’re going through, I’d recommend ADDerWorld. When they say “Anything and Everything ADHD” they mean it. The members of the community are knowledgeable and caring. They understand.

A Good Resource…From A Mom
I got involved with b-Calm because I was looking for ways that I’d be able to help my youngest son with his school work & homework. I’ve done quite a bit of research, trying to find information on ADHD. There are sites that say he needs medication, sites that say I must dicipline better, sites that say he has to have this schedule or that, even sites that say he’s imagining it, or just trying to get my attention!
One of the best sites I’ve found for information on ADHD, that lets my son be the individual he is; is The Truth Behind ADHD. There is a video on the site that shows my feelings so clearly, I get teary-eyed thinking about it.
There are parents out there that understand!
101 Natural Reinforcers
Okay, so there my not actually be 101, but this is a great list for parents and teachers looking for some new reinforcement ideas.
Educational Materials for Special Needs Homeschoolers
We’ve been fortunate to work with John and Tara Bertic during the development of AudioSedation.
They are good people with excellent resources for people of faith interested in homeschooling. I would also highly recommend their materials for homeschooling special needs children.

Research Opportunities for ASD Families
Too often it seems like medical research is some black box process that takes place in far off universities. I’m sure there are many who would like to get involved but don’t know where to begin.
We recent came across a great site where families can register and get involved with Austim and related research:
If you’d like to participate in the research and development efforts currently underway by b-Calm, please contact us or subscribe to our site. We’d love to hear from you!
