AudioSedation: What it is NOT

February 26, 2009 by Curtis

With any new tool for ASD or ADHD there can be alot of confusion as to what the intended purpose or method of effectiveness.  With so many different therapies, treatments and interventions, it can be confusing.

Currently, there has been considerable discussion surrounding Audio Integration Therapy (AIT) and Sensory Integration Therapy (SIT).  Some have found these strategies to be of value, yet there are those in the academic community that are divided as to the true effectiveness.

We want to be perfectly clear that the b-Calm system and AudioSedation are in no way intended to be AIT or SIT. Both of these therapies active seek to induce changes in biological processes.  Especially in regards to AIT, it is the goal to permanently correct possible faults within the brain.  This is not the aim of b-Calm and AudioSedation.

We encourage you to read our pages What Is It and FAQs for more information as to how b-Calm works.

We also strong urge anyone seeking to better address ADHD and ASD issues to work closely with qualified professionals to asses the best options for any individual.

If you still have questions, please call our office or email and we’d be happy to discuss the proper use of AudioSedation and answer any question you might have.

Information & Support for ADHD

Where do you go to for information or support if you or your child has been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD?  In addition to you or your child’s doctor or teacher, there are a lot of resources on the internet.  CHADD is a good place to start for information.  If you’d like to “talk” with someone who knows what you’re going through, I’d recommend ADDerWorld.  When they say “Anything and Everything ADHD” they mean it.  The members of the community are knowledgeable and caring.  They understand.

A Good Resource…From A Mom

I got involved with b-Calm because I was looking for ways that I’d be able to help my youngest son with his school work & homework.  I’ve done quite a bit of research, trying to find information on ADHD.  There are sites that say he needs medication, sites that say I must dicipline better, sites that say he has to have this schedule or that, even sites that say he’s imagining it, or just trying to get my attention!

One of the best sites I’ve found for information on ADHD, that lets my son be the individual he is; is The Truth Behind ADHD.  There is a video on the site that shows my feelings so clearly, I get teary-eyed thinking about it.

There are parents out there that understand!

We’ve been fortunate to work with John and Tara Bertic during the development of AudioSedation.

They are good people with excellent resources for people of faith interested in homeschooling.  I would also highly recommend their materials for homeschooling special needs children.

Research Opportunities for ASD Families

Too often it seems like medical research is some black box process that takes place in far off universities.  I’m sure there are many who would like to get involved but don’t know where to begin.

We recent came across a great site where families can register and get involved with Austim and related research:

Interactive Autism Network

If you’d like to participate in the research and development efforts currently underway by b-Calm, please contact us or subscribe to our site.  We’d love to hear from you!
